About Me

My name is Alex Curatolo and I have an interesting story;

Firstly I would like to share as to why I am at UNR studying Finance. This was not my first choice and when I graduated from high school in 2020 I thought I would be studying criminal justice, however due to covid and online classes in addition to perhaps just crazy thinking I joined the Marine Corps to become a Military Police Officer.

I completed my 4 years in 29 Palms, CA and with enough exposure to criminal Justice I had a course correction and realized this path was not for me in the long run. I discovered I had an optimism for discussing investing teaching others about wealth management. Math has always been something I have been good at and has come natural to me so it made a financial career path a logical step.

I have always enjoyed the outdoors, from landscape and wildlife photography to hiking, camping, backpacking and bowhunting I love it all, and it serves at least me as a reminder that while my skills in math and money are valuable and important to me; that money is just a tool, and if used correctly can allow me to spend as much time as possible doing what I love. I am at UNR to earn my degree in finance, and I am aiming to use this to help others manage their hard earned money so they can focus on what they love, enjoy and gives their lives meaning.

I have started to play lacrosse for UNR and am looking to continue my running career, a personal goal of mine is to complete a 50km race next year (31 miles) and I am looking into more ultra marathons like a 50 miler. It will be a challenge for sure but a welcome one at that as I always aim high and intend to meet those goals by upholding my standards.

I have almost achieved this years goal of hiking 1,000 miles and this does not include my running, this will put me in a good place to start the year for my race training blocks. I even completed a 33 mile through Lake Tahoe’s desolation wilderness in June of this year. It may be cliche but I do always believe in aiming amongst the stars, not because if you fall short because you’ll land on the moon but because I think its good to look up, reflect and have goals and to always be improving upon them.
